Medical Consultancy

Before starting the treatment, it is important for our patients to undergo an initial medical consultation, which includes a General Health Check and an examination based on the Four TCM Diagnostic Methods.

During this time, our TCM specialists in Dubai work closely with our medical team in China, offering our patients a first-class service and access to a wide range of knowledge, expertise and experience across the entire TCM spectrum.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, sterile and single-use needles into the patient’s skin. According to TCM, vital energy (Qi) streams through channels in the human body. It is believed that discomfort, pain and illness occur whenever the channel system is unbalanced or blocked.

As the acupuncture points are linked to these channels, acupuncture is used to restore the energetic balance and unblock the channels while stimulating the body’s natural flow of energy and blood.

Cupping & Wet Cupping

Cupping is a therapy that uses cups to create a local suction on the patient’s skin. Cupping is used to treat energetic blockages and enhance the circulation of blood and Qi in the targeted body areas. It also works as a pain reliever, especially in the cases of sports related injuries.

Furthermore, wet cupping, known as Hijama or medical bleeding, is believed to clear the shallow and deep muscle tissues from toxins while boosting the immune system.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese heat therapy that involves the burning of special dried plant materials on or very near to the surface of the skin. The plant material is called “moxa” which is usually made from Chinese mugwort (Artemisia argyi).

According to TCM, vital energy (Qi) streams through channels in the human body. The burning of moxa on or close to the body’s acupuncture points is believed to expel cold and warm the channels while soothing the flow of Qi and blood.

Scraping Treatment (Gua sha)

The scraping therapy or Gua sha is an ancient healing technique in which the practitioner scrapes the skin of the targeted body part with a special smooth-edged instrument. The scraping therapy promotes the flow of blood and energy (Qi) in the body.

As a result, it helps releasing muscle tension and regenerating the nervous system. Gua sha is commonly used to cure injuries with acute and chronic pain. It also has detoxifying effects on the body and supports the immune system by stimulating the lymphatic flow.
